Teaching

Dr. Carlson and Dr. Litoff both win Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Outstanding Teacher Awards in 2010.
Our physicians have teaching appointments at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine and University of Illinois College of Medicine-Chicago.
Third year Northwestern medical students come to Harbor for their month long Primary Care Clerkship. The goals are to teach interviewing skills and the basics of outpatient management of common medical problems.
First and Second year UIC students are part of the longitudinal primary care program. During their early years they get first hand instruction in medical interviewing in our office. The emphasis is on teaching listening skills to improve the physician patient relationship to improve clinical skills.
Our students are a pleasant addition to our team, All patients are always seen by our physicans in addition to the student. Often they add their own insights to the doctor patient encounter. Of course if you would prefer not to have a student present when you see your doctor just let us know.
